LIGNA: The place to be for the global leaders in wood processing
LIGNA in Hannover, Germany, is a prestigious and globally recognised event that attracts the leading companies in the wood industry. More than 1,500 exhibitors from over 40 countries come to Hannover to showcase their latest products, services and innovative concepts for the wood industry – from harvesting to industrial production.
The event is always an opportunity to see advanced tools, machinery and equipment for single and mass production, surface technology, wood-based panel production, sawmill technology and wood energy. The solutions on display will cover the full range of processes, from complex networked systems for large companies to simple systems for artisans.
Visitors will not only find a broad cross-section of the latest technologies and machines, but also a fully equipped machine park, unique in the world, where they can see the latest machines and tools in action. The accompanying programme, which focuses on discussing the most important trends in the industry, guarantees inspiring lectures and discussions with leading industry experts.

Preparing for investment
At Melaco we do not stand still. That is why we took our visit to LINGA as an opportunity to get to know the technological innovations from the point of view of our investments and the development strategy we have set for our production. Among the solutions presented at the show, some stood out in particular, as they fit in with our vision of the future – a place where processes are automated, energy efficient and flexible in terms of production batch sizes.
Cutting centres and receiving robot
One area of particular interest is panel cutting centres, integrated with a surface storage system and a robot for receiving the cut parts. This technology makes it possible to automate the entire process, from cutting the panels to transporting and storing them. This solution reduces costs, shortens production times and increases efficiency and quality.
Innovations in CNC machining
We are always on the lookout for innovations related to CNC machining – increasingly sophisticated machining centres are opening up new possibilities in furniture design and production. This technology allows us to produce components with complex shapes accurately and quickly, which in turn enables us to create unique designs and tailor our range to individual customer needs.
Modern wrapping and levelling lines
The innovations that caught our eye at LINGA were the state-of-the-art lines for wrapping narrow surfaces with the WATER POWER system. These unique solutions are integrated with a hydrogen generator used in the glue melting process. This innovative technology not only speeds up the wrapping process, but also significantly increases its energy efficiency, which is crucial in the context of the drive towards sustainable production.
Equally interesting were the lines for flattening lamella panels. The ability to efficiently and precisely flatten this type of product is crucial for the production of top-quality furniture. The modern technologies that we had the opportunity to see at the trade fair significantly speed up this process, while maintaining the highest level of precision and workmanship.
Both technologies – advanced wrapping and flattening lines – open up new opportunities for us to optimise our production processes. We plan to continue to invest in and develop these areas in order to continually improve the quality of our furniture and meet the growing expectations of our customers.
The era of new technologies in the furniture industry
Our visit to LINGA was an inspiring experience that opened our eyes to the future of the furniture industry. It is moving towards even greater automation and roboticisation of processes, focusing on technologies that minimise production batch sizes and increase the energy efficiency of operations.
At Melaco, we see great potential in these directions. We are ready to make the investments that will help us meet our customers’ needs even better and become a leader in applying innovative technologies in furniture production. We will soon announce the next steps in the implementation of our factory development strategy.
