Natural patterns
A definite trend, confirmed by interior architects, furniture sellers and trendsetters, is return to nature. The interest in sophisticated Glamor interiors or cold, loft stylizations has definitely dropped. In 2021, we focus on what is natural and cozy. This trend will be manifested both in the rejection of artificial materials and fabrics, and in the selection of textures and patterns imitating wood, stone, metal, and even the texture of a fabric.
At Melaco, we made sure that the furniture boards were in line with these trends in the 2020 collection. Our proposals include furniture elements imitating marble, wood with knots and grooves, architectural concrete, as well as metal and beautiful, elegant patterns referring to nickel and copper. Fans of unusual solutions will find something for themselves in a collection inspired by the textures of fabrics that refer to various eras in art and well-known motifs.
We also implied natural patterns into our popular decorative panels – Design Solutions™ 4_kitchen. The panels will change any kitchen in just one day thanks to the easy-to-install click technology.
What patterns do we offer to their users? They include motifs inspired by stone, concrete, metal and fabric texture.
Harmony and simplicity in colors
The fact that we are putting more and more emphasis on harmony in interior design was pointed out by paint manufacturer Benjamin Moore, announcing its color of the year 2021. It is Aegean Teal 2136-40, which – according to the company’s Trend Hunters – is at the same time intriguing, balanced and soothing. It provides the natural harmony we all need so much in the times of lockdown. Benjamin Moore not only chose the color of the year 2021, but also created a palette of twelve colors, enabling the creation of cozy, uniform, home interiors.
One of our suppliers, RENOLIT, also drew attention to similar values, offering a useful tool for navigating the prevailing and forecast trends. It is Trendservice Color Road, which “points the way to the future and helps gain a decisive competitive advantage.”
The color palette for interiors for 2021/2022 called “In Touch with Colors”, refers to the philosophy of touch, and more precisely – to our idea of how color should be felt through touch. Restrictions, limited contacts with others, isolation prevent us from using this sense in the same way as in the pre-pandemic times. In this context, colors acquire a therapeutic meaning, allowing us to experience the environment in a more clear way, affecting not only the sense of sight.
What are these colors? The RENOLIT company divided them into three palettes: Elements (private, emotional sphere, strongly related to nature and the search for peace, purity), Fundamental (internal values and the willingness to connect with the forces of nature), Statement (the bodily sphere, sensitive to stimuli, carrying information about who we are and what values are important to us).
We referred to the harmony in the selection of colors when creating the color palette of furniture elements covered with our innovative PREMIER MATT foil. This extremely matt structure with low light reflectance allows you to achieve a really deep, smooth surface effect. We have not forgotten about functionality. The PREMIER MATT foil is distinguished by the characteristic anti-fingerprint effect, which protects the surface against visible fingerprints, as well as the ability to self-regenerate. Minor damage or scratches will disappear completely under the influence of temperature.
Furniture elements covered with PREMIER MATT foil are available in five fashionable colors that harmonize with each other, and also refer to the subdued, “clean” colors proposed by a leading manufacturer of paints and RENOLIT. Among them are:
- Classic black with even greater depth thanks to its mattness.
- Stylish navy blue, giving the interior elegance.
- Soothing bottle green that opens up a whole range of possible color combinations.
- Muted gray, inspired by a natural stone.
- A white that will always remain pristine.

Multipurpose interiors
The coronavirus closed us within four walls, making the interiors of the apartments gain much more functions. Everything we did outside moved to our home space. The house has become an office, playground, spa salon, restaurant. Many people have faced the enormous challenge of arranging the space in such a way that all these elements of life can be separated.
We responded to this demand in the middle of the year by presenting our unique collection of modular furniture assembled without tools – Home Office and Home Store. These products quickly found wide interest due to their ease of installation, convenience and, above all, endless arrangement possibilities.
The study desk can turn into a coffee table or a small playground in minutes. The Home Store bookcase is used for storage, while at the same time being a stylish wall separating the office part in the room.
We showed the inspiration with the use of our collection on the example of the interior designed by Katarzyna Fanajło: Home office with Home Office and Home Store collection. Melaco furniture arranged by an interior designer.
It is worth recalling that the functionality of the Home Store line and its perfect, stylish finish was appreciated by the jury of the Diamond of Furniture plebiscite, granting it a prestigious award You can read more about it here: Furniture Diamond 2021 for Melaco. Check out our awarded products.
