FSC® certified since 2014
For over 8 years, we have been ensuring that Melaco products comply with the standards set by the Forest Stewardship Council®. Why is it so important? Because by verifying the origin of wooden products, we limit the degradation of forest resources, protect endangered species from extinction and reduce the negative impact of human activities on climate change.

On December 14, 2021, we successfully completed the FSC® control audit, which takes place regularly, and its purpose is to confirm that we adhere to strict rules and high standards related to the source of the wood-like panels processed in our plant. In this way, we assure our partners that our raw materials come from a certified supply chain, and cooperation with us enables them to implement their own ecological strategy.

100% recyclable film waste
One of our core technologies is the 3D pressing process on a vacuum-membrane press. It applies polypropylene films on finished products that are made in our plant. During this process, unnecessary film fragments are cut from the product, making them unsuitable for further processing. However, the resulting waste should not be thrown into the trash. On the contrary, 100% of waste from PVC, PP and PET foil is handed over to a certified recipient, who recycles it and supplies it to producers of other products. To make the collection of foil waste profitable, we use a baling press, which allows the maximum reduction of their volume.
How is the foil waste used in further production? For example, as foil for binders. Regranulate formed in the recovery process is also used by manufacturers of plastic pipes – it is added to pure granules and allows to reduce production costs while ensuring high quality of the product.
But that’s not all. As partners of one of the leading suppliers of finishing films, RENOLIT, we were included in the manufacturer’s strategy for sustainable development, which the brand presented at the SICAM 2021 trade fair. waste generated in the RENOLIT group. Actions taken in this way are part of the strategy for climate neutrality for the European Union, the tasks of which are described in the Green Deal.

Clean air and low energy consumption
The introduction of ecological solutions also contributes to the improvement of the conditions and quality of work of our employees. An example is our filter system, which ensures the cleanliness of the air in our plant. The filter station allows the removal of all impurities and waste from the air that arise during work on saws, milling machines and machining centers. The high-quality filter ensures perfect air filtration, and the full power of the station reaches 35 kW.
The advantage of this device is the automatic adjustment of operating parameters to the current demand. This means that depending on how many devices are currently running and how much waste is generated, the system lowers or increases its turnover. This allows us to save energy when demand falls. In this way, our employees can enjoy working in a dust-free plant. The waste, sucked through filters, goes to containers, from where it is collected by authorized recipients and subjected to further disposal. They are used, for example, as fuel in cement plants or biomass power plants.
Work ergonomics and less material
Sometimes even a small change makes a big difference – especially when it comes to reducing material consumption. For this purpose, we purchased a mobile, handy packaging robot SpiderPack, whose task is to put stretch film on pallets with finished products. How has this device changed our work?
First of all, this activity does not have to be performed by an employee anymore. It was burdensome for the spine and required quite a lot of strength and energy. Today, it is done by a robot that does not only do the work for the employees. Due to the pre-stretching function, the device uses approximately 50% less film on average. It is also tighter, which makes the palette more stable. This small solution allowed us to improve as many as three aspects of our daily work: ergonomics, economy and ecology.
