The event attracted more than a thousand customers from all over Europe, interested in training, presentations of novelties, as well as establishing valuable business contacts. This year Kronospan prepared a rich program that not only showed the latest trends in the industry, but also innovative solutions in the field of wood-based panels. This is a great opportunity to get to know the novelties in the industry, especially since Melaco has been refining Kronospan’s materials with its technologies for years. One of the latest solutions offered by Melaco is MicroMilling – a modern way of processing the surface of the board, which is particularly recommended to furniture manufacturers wishing to give their products a unique look. We veneer the front with a special two-color film and then mill the top layer of the film. CNC machining allows for perfect execution of even the most complicated project.
Dariusz Piotrowski, Vice President of Melaco, had the opportunity to attend this prestigious event. Check out his experiences and thoughts about new products he had seen during the fair.
Could you tell us about your impressions of this year’s Kronospan Hausmesse fair?
This year Kronospan celebrated its 35th anniversary in Poland, which was honored at the annual Hausmesse trade fair. It was an impressive event, both in terms of organization and content.
Did you notice any new trends or tendencies at this fair?
Definitely. There is clear interest in supermatt surfaces, such as Premier Matt and Filness, which Kronospan is promoting as a novelty, and MELACO has Complete Skin furniture boards and Melafol furniture fronts in its regular offer. Supermats are very popular now. As for wood structures, they also remain attractive, although there is now a trend toward more minimalist and updated woodgrain decors. These patterns are lighter, less knotty and more modern.
Can you give an example of a novelty that particularly interested you?
An example of such a novelty is the Viking Oak and Burlington Oak decors found in the MELACO collection. Black matte is also very popular, although glosses are also in demand. Synchronized wood structures, where the grain pattern is matched to the decor structure, is another innovation that is attracting attention.
What makes the Hausmesse trade show so important to the industry?
Hausmesse is an excellent opportunity to meet with major Polish and foreign furniture manufacturers, designers, and representatives of construction companies. It’s a place where you can exchange insights, make new business contacts, and learn about the latest trends and technologies. The order book depends on the interest in novelties and the success of this event, so the hosts have prepared it very carefully.
